FAQ

What is anti-islanding protection?
It automatically disconnects the inverter from the grid during an outage so it does not back-feed and endanger utility workers. It is a mandatory grid-tie safety function under standards such as IEC 62116.
Does a grid-tied inverter work during a power cut?
A standard grid-tied inverter shuts down during a grid outage for safety and does not power the home; battery backup or a hybrid inverter with backup capability is required for that.
What does MPPT mean?
Maximum Power Point Tracking continuously adjusts the operating voltage so the array delivers its highest available power as sunlight and temperature change. Multiple MPPTs let strings on different roof orientations be optimised separately.
